How do I take part?
Simple! First, you have to download one of the following games:

The next step is to play the game and, naturally enough, achieve a high enough score to make it onto the charts! With Snake, you should choose to play an Endurance game.

Then, simply send me an e-mail with the following:

  • The most important thing is the high score file, which you should send as a file attachment (there's no need to zip it up due to the small file size):
    • If you have a Galactic Battle high score, please attach the file gb.hsc (this file will be in the game directory)
    • If you have a Snake high score, please attach the file snake.res (this file will be in the game directory)
    • If you have a Tetlix high score, please attach the file tetlx.scr (this file may be a little tricky to find; see note below)
    • If you have a Tetris high score, please attach the file tetris.hi (this file will be in the game directory)
  • Your name as you wish it to appear on the high score table
  • A confirmation of your score (or scores, if more than one will get you into the charts!)

Et voilą! Your fame and fortune is assured... until someone else beats your score! Please note that the chart leaders will find their names proudly displayed on the front page of the site - what more incentive could you possibly want?!

Any rules?
  • No cheating!
  • With all the games, you can play at any level you choose.
  • With Snake, you should choose to play an Endurance game.
  • There's no deadline by which you have to submit your scores; the competition is on-going.

If you do have any questions or suggestions, feel free to mail me. Good luck!

Note for Tetlix players
When Tetlix creates a high score file, tetlx.scr, it is not automatically saved in the game directory. Rather, it is saved depending on the current directory, a point which is especially evident when running the game from within System Manager (e.g. from Filer). To avoid this, you may find it helpful to edit and then use the batchfile, go.bat, included in the download file. By default, the batchfile will look like this:

@echo off
cd \tetlix
tetlix

You should edit the second line if necessary, replacing "\tetlix" with the directory where you installed the game. Thus, running go.bat instead of tetlix.exe ensures that tetlx.scr will only ever be found in the game directory, rather than in a random location on your disk!
